Favourite Things Medley

My heart will be blessed

  1. With the sound of music;

    And I’ll sing once more.

    Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens;

    Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens;

    brown paper packages tied up with strings:

    These are a few of my favourite things.

    Cream coloured ponies and crisp apple trudels;

    Doorbells and sleighbells and schnitzel with noodles;

    Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings:

    These are a few of my favourite things.

    Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes;

    Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes;

    Silver white winters that melt into springs:

    These are a few of my favourite things

    When the dog bites, when the bee stings.

    When I’m feeling sad,

    I simply remember my favourite things

    And then I don’t feel — so bad.

    High on a hill was a lonely goatherd.

    Lay-ee o-dl lay-ee o-dl lay-ee-o

    Loud was the voice of the lonely goatherd,

    Lay-ee o-dl lay-ee o-dl-oo

    O-ho, lay-dee o-dl lee-o!

    O-ho, lay-dee o-dl ay!

    O-ho, lay-dee o-dl lee-o!

    Ho-di-o-dl lee-o-au!

    One little girl in a pale pink coat heard:

    Lay-ee o-dl lay-ee o-dl lay-ee-o

    She yodled back to the lonely goatherd,

    Lay-ee o-dl lay-ee o-dl-oo

    Ho-di lay-ee!

    Ho-di lay-ee!

    Ho-di lay-ee!

    O-de lay!

    Do! A deer, a female deer

    Re! A drop of golden sun,

    Me! A name, I call myself,

    Fa! I a long long way to run

    So! A needle pulling thread

    La! A note to follow so

    Ti! A drink with jam and bread

    That will bring us back to do!

    Do re mi fa so la ti do!

    Do mi mi, mi so so

    Re fa fa, la ti ti

    When you know the notes to sing,

    You can sing most anything!

    Do! A deer, a female deer

    Re! A drop of golden sun,

    Me! A name, I call myself,

    Fa! I a long long way to run

    So! A needle pulling thread

    La! A note to follow so

    Ti! A drink with jam and bread

    That will bring us back to do!

    So do!

    Edelweiss, edelweiss,

    Ev’ry morning you greet me,

    Small and white, clean and bright,

    You look happy to meet me

    Blossom of snow, may you bloom and grow,

    Bloom and grow forev-er

    Edelweiss, edelweiss, bless my homeland forever

    So long, farewell, auf wiedersehn, good night,

    I hate to go and leave this pretty sight

    So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, adieu,

    Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu, goodbye!

    The sun has gone to bed and so must I

    So long, farewell, auf wiedersehn goodbye, goodbye!

    With the sound of music!

    With the sound of music!
